Convoy of Hope
The Convoy of Hope will be in Cumberland County at the fairgrounds on August 27 from 9:00 AM until 2:00 PM. Guests will be provided with free groceries, children’s shoes, a Kids’ Zone, community services, lunch, gardening supplies, veterans services, family portraits, health services, and much more!

Cumberland County Commission Meeting
The July 2022 meeting of the Cumberland County Commission was held tonight with all Commissioners in attendance except Chad Norris, David Gibson, and Jim Blalock. During our special recognition time, I recognized Boy Scout Troop 374 that was in attendance.
RESOLUTION 07-2022-1 – TO ACCEPT OFFERS TO PURCHASE DELINQUENT TAX PROPERTY OWNED BY CUMBERLAND COUNTY (HYDER)
The following delinquent tax properties were approved for purchase and will now go back on the tax rolls. The commission approved the resolution 15-0.

RESOLUTION 07-2022-2 – TO APPOINT ONE (1) JUDICIAL COMMISSIONER FOR CUMBERLAND COUNTY, TENNESSEE (BALDWIN)
Christy Eldridge was appointed to a six-month term as Judicial Commissioner on the recommendation of Judge Will Ridley and Judicial Commissioner Director Jennifer Phillips-Cross. The vote was unanimous.
RESOLUTION 07-2022-3 – TO PLACE A QUILT BLOCK ONTO AN EXTERIOR WALL OF THE MILO LEMERT BUILDING
The Building and Grounds Committee requested the county work in coordination with Downtown Crossville, Inc. to display a quilt block on the Milo Lemert building. The request was approved unanimously.
RESOLUTION 07-2022-4 – TO APPROVE THE CUMBERLAND COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT EDUCATION POLICY (FOSTER)
The Cumberland County Health Department has the opportunity to receive temporary federal funds for educational leave and tuition for certain employees. A policy was created to in order to clearly communicate the use of temporary Federal Funds for educational leave and tuition assistance for Health Department employees under applicable State and Federal laws. The Commission voted unanimously in favor of adopting the policy.
RESOLUTION 07-2022-5 – TO APPROVE LEASE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CUMBERLAND COUNTY HOMESTEAD TOWER ASSOCIATION, INC. AND CUMBERLAND COUNTY (THREET)
The Building & Grounds Committee recommended a new lease agreement with the Homestead Tower Association. The term of the lease is for five years. The lease agreement was approved in a 15-0 vote.
Financial Update
There in no report this month as the Finance Department is closing out the fiscal year and we are waiting for final numbers from the state.
