RESOLUTION 07-2020-3 – REGARDING THE LEASE AGREEMENT WITH THE CUMBERLAND COUNTY FAIR ASSOCIATION, INC. (WILSON). The Cumberland County Fair Association, Inc., has cancelled all scheduled events for the 2020 Fair “due to the COVID-19 virus and all other safeguards required to prevent the spread.” This resolution grants the association a one-time waiver of the lease fee and gives the county the ability to rent the grounds during the previously reserved dates. The resolution was approved unanimously.
FINANCIAL REPORT
Property tax collections ended at 101% of budget. Hotel/Motel tax collections came in at approximately $640,000 of the $817,283 budget as revised down due to last year’s collection. Prisoner boarding collections through 11 months were $552,000 of the $743,000 budget. Local option sales tax collections for the BOE came in at $947,300 which is $29,207 above estimated revenue. This is money spent by consumers in April, remitted to the State in May, and reported in June. Overall, collections were $148,549 above the budgeted amount for the year. EMS collections for the year were just over $4.9 million. The annual budgeted amount was $4,000,000 so we have done well there too. We have had some positives and negatives this budget year, but is seems we have come out somewhat better than we may have originally projected. It seems many of the large counties may not have been so lucky.

The state has a new map available that gives a little more data by zip code. To get to the map, click here: https://www.tn.gov/health/cedep/ncov/data/maps.html, then select the “Recent trends by Zip Code” tab and select “Upper Cumberland Region” to see the 21-Day Testing and Case Rates for various zip codes.
* Hospitalization data reflect the cumulative (total) number of cases of Cumberland County residents that were ever hospitalized from COVID-19. It does not reflect the number of people currently hospitalized. This does not mean the patient was hospitalized in Cumberland County. It means that a Cumberland County resident was hospitalized at some point.
